Today is the day that we kick off Project Local Love on my blog. It's a new feature that I've been wanting to do for quite a while now. If you have been following my facebook fan page, you know that I love spreading the word about other local small businesses.
What is Project Local Love? Project Local Love is my way of helping other small local businesses branch out. These are the businesses that support our town, know your name and what you want to shop for, help our town grow and even contribute to local charities. Also, I love being inspired and sharing that inspiration with others, especially my clients. Sometimes it's easy to find inspiration but sometimes it can be a little hard. Of course I want everything to be absolutely perfect when it comes to my clients needs. Because of this, I decided to start a new and exciting beginning to Sarah Elizabeth Photography, in which I will be featuring local and southeast Missouri based companies that offer a product, skill or service that will benefit you with a pleasant and perfect photography experience.
I honestly believe that in order be to successful, supporting one another is the way to go.
So, without any further ado, it's my honor to introduce you to my first feature Elegant Affair Boutique which is owned and operated by Lisa Sutton and located out of Potosi, MO.
I met Lisa just before Thanksgiving of last year while searching for bridesmaids dresses with my cousins wedding party. After talking with Lisa and working with her first hand, I just knew that she would be a perfect feature for PLL. I sent her a message asking her if she would be interested and was ecstatic when she replied that she was in fact interested. We decided that since June is a very popular wedding month and just so happens to be her shops customer appreciation month, that June would without a doubt be the perfect time to showcase her business.
Elegant Affair Boutique will also be having a grand re-opening on Friday June 21st. They will be hosting Open House all day with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 pm.
Get to know Lisa-
What motivated you to open your business?
I've always wanted to own my own business and by my own boss. When the time came that I could do this, I decided to go with a bridal business because I have always had a "secret" fascination with bridal gowns. I am selling a woman the most important dress that she will ever purchase.
What bridal gowns do you offer in your store?
I currently offer the Alfred Angelo line of bridal gowns, bridesmaid dress, mother's separates and flower girl dresses. Bridal gown collections include Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Gowns, the Modern Vintage Collection and the regular collection of AA Gowns. Bridesmaid dresses by Alexia Designs are also available.
What is your favorite memorable experience when it comes to your business?
My most memorable experience to date is shedding tears right along with mom, grandma, aunts and friends when one of my beautiful brides stepped outside of the dressing room in her gown and veil. She was an angel and she was perfect.
What is the most important thing to you when it comes to your business?
What is your favorite advice to give brides regarding the perfect dress?
If the gown makes you feel like a beautiful princess, then it is most likely the one!

-The shop is done in a modern and vintage mixed style. Not only are you surrounded by beautiful dresses, but you are also surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere as well.
-Like myself, Lisa is a firm believer in supporting other small local businesses. Located near the front desk is an area solely for businesses that pertains to wedding needs. There you can find products and business cards for local cake designers, streamstresses, photographers, prop designers & so much more!-Lisa is a professional and loves everything about her job. She shared a few stories with me about brides finding "the dress". The look and emotion on her face as she told the stories reminded me of myself when I talk about photography. She absolutely loves it.
